While receiving God-Knowledge, a seeker pledges to follow five principles given as: 1. One should consider all one's worldly assets - physical, mental and material as ultimately belonging to God and one may utilized them as a trustee and should not be proud of these possessions. 2. One should not feel proud of one's religion, caste, colour and creed as also the status (Ashram); one should love every one as a fellow human being. 3. One should not hate or criticize others on account of their diet and dress which may be different from his or her own. 4. One must not leave one's hearth and home, become recluse or ascetic and be a burden on others; one must earn one's own livelihood through honest hard work and fulfil one's responsibilities as a family person. 5. One must not divulge to others the divine knowledge as revealed by the True Master, without a word from him. This will save him or her from the pride of being in possession of God-Knowledge.

One that cares

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winner for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Acheivements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

It's madness

It's complete madness

To hate all roses because you got scratched by one thorn.

To give up all your dreams, because one did not come true.

To give up on your efforts, because one of them failed.

To condemn all your friends, because one of them betrayed.

Not to believe in love, because someone was unfaithful.

Remember that

Another chance may come up

A new friend

A new love

A new life

Never give up on anything.

If not now, when?

For what reason does the man of the world not give a place in his thought to the things of greatest importance? In boyhood, he is too merry. He says: "There is plenty of time; I will wait till I am a man. It is no use bothering my head about these things now." In youth, he is too busy. He studies to occupy his time, and his living to earn. He says: "I must devote all the time that I can spare from sport and pleasure to making money. When I am settled in life, there will be time enough to attend to religion." In manhood, he is too preoccupied. Family cares weigh upon him. Responsibilities of one kind or another have to be faced. Business demands upon his time and thought are urgent. He says: "I can't think of God yet; I must pull through these serious matters first."

One can't raise his own leg in spite of trying the best

When a person stands against a wall, touching it with the right or left portion of his body, he cannot raise his own leg.

Necessary materials:
A wall with the surface even

Method:
Call one of the viewers and ask him to stand straight against the wall sticking the complete right or left portion (except the head) of his body. Then pronouncing the magic spell, whirl the magic-stick around his body, and touch his right leg twice with the magic stick pretending to beat. Now ask him to raise his right leg. He will not be able to raise the leg in spite of trying his best.

Gender of Computers

Reasons why computers must be male:
  1. They have a lot of data but are still clueless
  2. A better model is always just around the corner
  3. They look nice and shiny until you bring them home
  4. It is always necessary to have a backup
  5. They'll do whatever you say if you push the right buttons
  6. The best part of having either one is the games you can play
  7. The lights are on but nobody's home
  8. Big power surges knock them out for the night
  9. Size does matter

A Nirankari

To be a Nirankari is to belong to a family of men and women who are dedicated and active in the work of human welfare, both spiritually and materially.
God-consciousness is the purpose of all acts - Sangat (Congregation), Simran (God-consciousness) and Seva (selfless service) - the Trininity. Sangat and Simran help in communicating with the Lord and Seva is a productive activity which provides the basis of our relationship to one another.
Do you ever find it difficult to talk about the potential effectiveness of goodwill and World Brotherhood to the so-called 'realists' and 'down to earth' people who can see little hope accomplishing much of spiritual idealism? Maybe this is because of bad spiritual upbringing, or, in fact, being taught an entirely wrong concept of religion i.e. religious fundamentalists who insist on a set of meaningless rituals, and have a very narrow view of life.

Russia scientist links brain tumours to cell phone use

A leading Russian scientist has said, citing a Swedish study, the use of cell phones from an early age could lead to brain tumours. "There is data suggesting brain tumours could develop," Yury Grigoryev, a leading scientist at the Burnazyan Medical Biophysical Center said. Grigoryev cited Swedish research data, which he said showed that if a child uses a cell phone from 8 to 12 years, then the risk of developing a brain tumour by the age of 21 increases fivefold.
