While receiving God-Knowledge, a seeker pledges to follow five principles given as: 1. One should consider all one's worldly assets - physical, mental and material as ultimately belonging to God and one may utilized them as a trustee and should not be proud of these possessions. 2. One should not feel proud of one's religion, caste, colour and creed as also the status (Ashram); one should love every one as a fellow human being. 3. One should not hate or criticize others on account of their diet and dress which may be different from his or her own. 4. One must not leave one's hearth and home, become recluse or ascetic and be a burden on others; one must earn one's own livelihood through honest hard work and fulfil one's responsibilities as a family person. 5. One must not divulge to others the divine knowledge as revealed by the True Master, without a word from him. This will save him or her from the pride of being in possession of God-Knowledge.

Online safety

Little over a decade ago, people were very happy with their computer. Back then, there wasn't the compulsive need to shield the machine against unwanted complications and the word 'virus' was only associated with flu. But along with the internet boom came a new breed of problems which were unheard of. Internet today has become a medium for viruses, spywares, trojans, adwares, worms and many other malicious applications to be delivered to your computer; and you don't even have to do anything to get them. A simple loophole in the system can result in a probable loss of personal data or silly nuisances can hamper your productivity. Although total security is a daunting task, you can still overcome numerous threats by taking simple things into consideration. Read on for some tips to make your digital life blissful.

Install a good security Package
Most computer related problems arises due to applications that you never knew existed or installed yourself. In today's always connected world, these little but lethal applications make way to your system in an almost invisible fashion. A good security package provides that much needed first step towards shielding your system. A computer without an up-to-date antivirus software is like leaving your house door open for anyone to walk in. So, invest on a robust antivirus software. Install firewall to monitor inbound and outbound traffic and to deny unauthorized access to your system. Free softwares like Avast! antivirus, ZoneAlarm firewall should to the job pretty well.

Surf Smart
Internet today is rife with stuffs of malevolent nature, so the mantra is to surf smart. Turn off your browser's JavaScript, avoid unsolicited emails and don't get carried away by free offers. No reputed firm is going to flood your inbox with free iPod offers. Be warned specifically if your email attachments end in '.exe', '.pif' or '.scr'. Avoid using P2P clients like Kazaa, Gnutella, and Shareaza. Those clients make it easy for hackers to plant worms and viruses with your downloads. Regularly empty your browser's cache, cookies and history. Harmful code can be embedded on to the coding of the websites itself, so deleting your browser's cache and cookies can help secure your system.

Wireless Caution!
Internet hotspots are now becoming more common than ever. Even if they maybe convenient, you are at more risk while using WiFi than you are if you are using its regular wired counterpart. Your personal data is at more risk and it is easier to get access to your system too. For basic web surfing a wireless network is fine, but if you are paranoid about online safety then opt for wired solutions like cable or ADSL. Do not perform task such as internet banking or online shopping on a wireless hotspot. 'Data sniffers' can easily detect any information sent over the air so online transactions will put you at risk. Do not join random wireless networks. If you have a wireless network setup at home, turn your router's security features to its fullest. Turn on encryption like WPA & WEP and protect the network with a password.

Updates, Updates
Always keep your computer up-to-date, install security patches and turn on Windows update. Your anti virus software MUST be updated daily. New viruses are discovered everyday, so yesterday's definition cannot do anything to secure your system from viruses that are discovered tomorrow. Update your browser to the latest version and install all the important security patches for your softwares from the manufacturers' website. Your operating system should be specifically updated to the latest version. These updates patch many security loopholes and flaws from which infections may occur.

Since most break-ins and hazards can be avoided by keeping a watchful eye, the end user itself plays a crucial role for their own safety on-line. Users need to be self-aware of the various situations and conditions in which they are at risk. And always remember to backup important files and data.
