The World's Toughest "Boarding House" Puzzle

Mr. Williams, Mr. Barnet and Mr. Edwards all live in Ma Boscombs boarding house. One is a baker, one a taxi driver and one a fireman. Which is which is for you to figure out. Here are five clues to help:
  1. Mr. Williams and Mr. Barnet play chess every night.
  2. Mr. Barnet and Mr. Edwards go to baseball games together.
  3. The taxi driver collects coins, the fireman lead soldiers, and the baker stamps.
  4. The taxi driver has never seen a ball game.
  5. Mr. Edwards has never heard of approvals.

    Since the taxi driver has never seen a ball game he must be Mr. Williams. Also, Mr. Edwards has never heard of approvals so he can't be a stamp collector. Therefore, the three occupations are: Mr. Williams is a taxi driver; Mr. Edwards is a fireman, and Mr. Barnet is a baker.
